History
The College of Engineering Chengannur, an institution of excellence in the domain of technical education, was established in the year 1993, with a vision to create engineers having the drive, skill, and confidence to become the pioneers of tomorrow. The College functions with the highest order of discipline so that all students are trained to excel in highly professional environments
The college was set up under the auspices of the Institute of Human Resources and Development (IHRD) and is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi. It is affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University(KTU)
The college has about a hundred experienced staff members. Our students are working in leading companies and research institutions in India and abroad. Well established infrastructural facilities, high academic standards, encouragement in co-curricular and extracurricular activities all glued by an apolitical sense of discipline among the students, have firmly established our credentials in the forefront of professional education.
Being located at the heart of the city of Chengannur in Alappuzha district, the college has got access to all means of transport including rail services, communication, and lodging facilities. The Cochin International Airport is just a three-hour drive from Chengannur.

Functioning of the college started with ECE and CS batch under the aegis of Institute of Human Resource Development(IHRD) – a Govt. of Kerala undertaking.
