IEEE Student Branch College of Engineering Chengannur

With the aim of instilling technical competence and responsibilities in budding engineers, IEEE Student Branch College of Engineering Chengannur was established in 1997. Since then it has developed into one of the premier student branches in the state. The institute has received global acclaim due to its numerous contributions to the society and vibrant volunteers. It currently functions with five student branch chapters along with a Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology and a Women in Engineering Affinity Group which is among the first of its kind within the Asia Pacific region.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

College of Engineering Chengannur has initiated its NCC unit under the NAVAL wing of the Armed Forces. The unit is commissioned on 16th October 2014 with a total strength of 50 cadets. There will be 33% of seats are reserved for lady cadets. Our NAVY NCC unit functions under 3(K) Navy Unit Kollam, of the Kollam group NCC headquarters.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme CEC comprising 3 Units and around 300 volunteers, plays a major role in molding them as ‘Social Engineers’ and inculcating values like compassion and benevolence in them. The enthusiasm and dedication of all the volunteers combined with the faculty support make each program successful.

TinkerHub CE Chengannur

TinkerHub CEC is a Campus Community initiative of TinkerHub Foundation at College Of Engineering Chengannur.

We at TinkerHub CE Chengannur, aim to fulfill the mission and vision of Tinkerhub Foundation at our campus by empowering students with access to the knowledge they need to thrive in the new world.

TinkerHub Campus Community is for students who want to learn and teach technology. We want our community members to understand and embrace the power of critical thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Electronics Students Society (ExESS)

Electronics Students Society (ExESS) is a technical forum for students in the electronics department of College of Engineering Chengannur.The primary goal of ExESS is to explore and strengthen the technical knowledge and practical skills of our students and make them industry-ready . We also intend to highlight what’s new and coming in the realm of electronics to help students comprehend technology and push it beyond what the world has seen.

ExESS arranges a variety of activities for students throughout the year. Its Workshops to gain hand on experience, Hackathon for practical problem solving, and Quiz programmes were marked by active participation of our students.Webinar series on some of the most relevant topics by eminent personnels were also conducted.

Product Design and Development Centre (PRODDEC)

Product Design and Development Center (PRODDEC) is a common platform for all CECians. It was the first technical forum in CEC formed in 1996 with the vision of integrating technical ideas and to develop products with engineering outlook. The executive council of PRODDEC is always in search of new avenues to help and encourage the students, to put their theoretical knowledge to practical use.

Forum of Computer Engineering Students (FOCES)

FOCES is an organization of CSE students of the college. The forum aims at improving the technical and industrial knowledge of the students and strives to keep them abreast of the latest software and technologies evolving in the information technology field. It welcomes the freshers into computer engineering by conducting introductory orientation classes.

It organizes talks by eminent personalities in the industry on evolving technologies in computing, workshops on the latest developing platforms, languages, and software packages in the IT industry, and helps coordinate and implement software projects for the students in the Computer Science & Engineering Dept.

SURGE

Started in 2012, the Electrical Engineering students association, SURGE is committed to enhancing the skills of electrical students by organizing technical seminars, workshops, training programs, and industrial visits.SURGE aims at increasing the technical knowledge of the students on the basic concepts of electricity. Modern-day technology and its applications at the industry level, thereby enhancing a professional touch to their thoughts.

Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Club

Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala formulated a scheme to set up Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in colleges of the State to inculcate Entrepreneurial Culture amongst youth and equip them with the skills, techniques, and confidence to act as torch-bearers of Enterprise for the new generation.

The objectives of the Entrepreneurship Development Club are to infuse entrepreneurship qualities, sensitize the industrial scenario of the state, nurture the latent entrepreneurial talent, develop awareness among its members of the attitudes, values, and skills of successful entrepreneurs around the globe, etc.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell [IEDC] Bootcamp College of Engineering Chengannur came into existence in June 2015 with the notion of molding youngsters into technological entrepreneurs and innovative leaders.

The cell act as an instigator in nurturing entrepreneurship and developing & cherishing a spirit of innovation and a prompt to follow their passion amongst the student community of CEC in association with KSUM.

We envision boosting innovative thinking and becoming a facilitator between the students inside the campus and the industry.

Arts Club

Platform to nurture and develop, performance and other artistic expressionism for students of college. 3 days long annual cultural fest followed by 6 days of auditions and offstage events is the key event of the forum.

Sports Club

For the enthusiastic sports lovers of our college, we conduct an annual sports week in our college which involves both track and field events along with indoor games such as Chess and Carroms. Apart from the annual meet, there are special annual inter-semester Football Competition (Tiger 5), Badminton Competition (Smash), Throwball Competition for girls, and an Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Championship (I Shall).

CEC Film Society

Aims to introduce students to the various aspects of entertainment medium, cinema, and focus on informal gatherings where themes, experiences, and emotions that form part of our lives are discussed.

A platform for students to explore the world of cinema as an educational, cultural, and artistic expression.

CEC Band

Amidst the typical flutter of academic and professional activities, music calls to those who listen. Where music meets the mind, The Chosen is the official band of CEC composed of students with a strong inclination to the musical arts.

KDC

KDC, The official dance club of CEC. An extracurricular club that brings together students who have interest and talent for dance, giving them new exciting opportunities to nurture, bring out and showcase their inner dancer!

Alumin Relations Cell (ARC)

The Alumni Relations Cell of the College of Engineering Chengannur consists of a Faculty in charge, students, and Alumni members. The main objective of the cell is to maintain a constant friendly relationship with all the alumni members of the college. This includes Inviting the Alumni members to various college events and making arrangements for the visit of alumni members to the college. The cell also initiates to build a database of the entire pass-out students along with annual alumni meetings.

Training & Placement Cell (TPC)

The Training and Placement Cell (TPC) College of Engineering Chengannur is an integral part of the Institution. It is a body of active students, guided by Staff-in-Charge. The placement cell activities include coordinating pre-placement talks, and organizing drives throughout the academic year both in the college and the local area.

The Cell’s primary objective is to provide training and placements to college students.
Students are led to take the initiative to develop their attitude in the workplace, and soft skills and are allowed to develop technical skills alongside analytical capabilities.
